Sunday Evening:

Upon your group's arrival, begin with a delicious home-cooked all-you-can-eat meal. We will take the time to orient your group to the camp, introduce staff and fill everyone in on all the week's activities. Spend the rest of the evening settling into the bunkhouse, playing sand volleyball, or sitting by the campfire to ease out the travel doldrums.

Monday:

Hike to Hidden Falls! - one of the rare mountain hideaways destined to uplift anyone. Follow up with a delicious barbecue lunch next to String Lake. (approximately 62 miles round trip)

Aerial Tram ride! - Experience God's beauty from the top of Rendezvous Mountain, the highest tramway in the lower 48 states- 4,139 ft. vertical! (approximately 3 miles round trip)

Tuesday:

See Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic Hot Spring, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Black Dragon's Cauldron, and view some of the park's animals which include moose, elk, deer, buffalo...and perhaps even a grizzly or black bear. Tour the entire day sightseeing and hiking in the fabulous creation of our God! (approximately 290 miles round trip)

Wednesday:

Hike to Ampitheater Lake! - Rising just over 3,000 feet from the valley floor, this is a challenging but breathtaking 11-mile hike to a beautiful lake surrounded by trees and cliffs. (approximately 25 miles round trip)

Jackson Hole Rodeo! - Enjoy an evening of Old West entertainment that's certain to keep you on the edge of your seat. (approximately 14 miles round trip)

You can also enjoy the warm fireplace in the lodge, or join in at a campfire outdoors. (approximately 14 miles round trip)

Friday:

This day will be left to your own choice with options like...

  • a short hike to Phelps Lake Overlook and Phelps Canyon (16 miles R.T.)
  • a hike for the more adventurous: Delta Lake. It's our personal favorite, with the best, closest view of the Tetons from any lake in the national park. The hike is 8 miles round trip. We recommend it to those with more hiking experience (it's off the official trail and you navigate your way through 2 boulder fields). (57 miles R.T.)
  • an afternoon swimming at Granite Hot Springs (a 104+ F. natural hot springs nestled in the mountains of Wyoming.) (100 miles R.T.)
  • mountain biking (mileage varies)
  • shopping in town (17 miles R.T.)
  • Jeep tours (14 miles R.T.)
  • an afternoon horseback riding (17 mi.R.T.)
  • riding the Alpine Slide (17 miles R.T.)
  • relaxing at camp
  • seeing an authentic Old West shoot-out in Jackson (17 miles R.T.)

Other Recommendations:

  • Evening devotions around a campfire to bring the day to a close with a time of spiritual insight and sharing with one another.

*Mileages are shown above activities for the benefit of those who may be chartering a bus for the group's transportational needs. Rocky Mountain Lodge does not assume responsibility for transportation needs unless previous arrangements have been made.

Thursday and Friday activity plans are interchangeable according to the weather.
